Even though former Bob Brady adviser Ken Smukler says that the first phone call about 527s came to him from Johnny Doc while he was driving home from Washington with Brady, the congressman said after this morning's debate that he had absolutely no idea anyone connected to him was working on setting up the independent operations.
And he called on the two anti-Tom Knox 527s now operating to cease and desist.
Or, as Brady says:
"Get out of town. We don’t need them. Don’t want them. I don’t need them, I don’t want them. They ain’t doing me any favors. I don’t care about them. I’ve got my record. I do what I need to do. Don’t. Want. Any. 527s. Don’t think they need to exist, never did. Swift Boats. Don’t like them. Don’t want them in the city of Philadelphia."
Well if Bob Brady says he's not involved in any 527s, it must be true.

Great to see Brady setting the record straight and encouraging well-intentioned but reckless individuals to stop "helping" his campaign.
Now, if Mr. Knox would also take a similar path and call off the union thugs who are harassing people who support candidates other than Knox. There is NO comparison between having a legal group like a 527 and having a bunch of ex cons, and union toughs going around. These Knox supporters have intimidated Tommy the Shark's handler, physically assaulted the shark, and apparently last night gone on a rampage breaking the car windows of people.
Have we really reached the point where it is not safe to display a Brady/Nutter/Evans/Fattah sign for mayor without fear of being attacked? Can I not safely walk down the streets of Philly with my Brady for Mayor button on?
I'm disgusted. Tom Knox does NOT even belong in this race, and his enforcers do not belong here either.
Come on Mr. Knox. Call off your thugs. Let the people of Philly make up their own minds, let us vote for whomever we like. Running the sixth largest city is not elementary school. We should not let the biggest bully decide who is in charge. I call on you, Mr. Candidate to distance yourself from these deplorable actions, and the individuals who would act thusly on your behalf. It's all in good fun until someone gets hurt, and when that day comes, it will be on your hands. Do you even care about your constituents?

Two Brady supporters just busted the window of my store because I had Evans posters! They were yelling and took off in a black car. And when I chased them and another one of them stole all the chocolate milks in my freezer.

If your post about people busting your window is true, i'm saddened for you. If you're just making a joke, well, i'm really sorry for you because I happen to know -for a fact- that an individual who had a Brady sign in their yard had their car windows broken out, and probably by Knox's jack-booted thugs from the union, not many people (except for Knox maybe) can easy absorb that kind of cost.
You support Evans, that's fine. I'm sort of in the anybody but Knox camp. If I were you tho, I'd be careful about displaying any pro-Evans items or you too may become a victim of Knox's intimidation.

I saw a group of union carpenters today smash a whole row of TVs in Best Buy in South Philly when a Knox ad aired. They stopped as soon as the commercial was over.

One of Bradys ward leaders told me last week he was going to beat me unmerciful if I didn't put a Brady sign in my window. I heard he is so crazy he beat up a cripple before. He slashed my tires three times.

I know someone who volunteers for Brady's campaign and he told me that a few of the other volunteers there were planning to "comment-carpet-bomb" blogs that allow anonymous posts with anti-Brady (and other candidate) comments and blame Johnny Doc's people to make him look bad.
